WORLD TRADE POINT FEDERATION (WTPF)
The World Trade Point Federation , is a non-governmental organization registered in
Geneva, Switzerland. Its purpose is to bring together, within one working philosophy all
the Trade Points established in accordance with the guidelines of the Trade Point
Programme and to serve as an institutional framework for them.
The WTPF has the following objectives:
(a) Fostering greater participation in international trade of small and medium-sized
enterprises MEs, giving special attention to the Least Developed Countries and other
countries less advanced in the area of trade efficiency through the use of e-commerce
technologies;
(b) Reducing transaction costs in international trade by contributing to the
simplification and harmonization of trade procedures worldwide.
(c) Opening international trade to new participants, especially SMEs, by contributing to
the simplification and harmonization of trade procedures worldwide and giving traders
access to advanced technologies and information networks.
1. Membership in the WTPF is automatic for Trade Points established in accordance with the
rules and regulations of the Trade Point Programme;
The organs of the WTPF are the General Assembly, the Steering Committee and technical
committees.
2. The founding members are the already existing Trade Points.
